Purple Hands Wines 2013 Barossa Valley Mataro-Grenache-Shiraz was selected in the Adelaide Review Hot 100 SA wines.
The awards were held at the Queens Theatre on Thursday 30th October with an enthusiastic crowd gathered to taste the best of South Australian food and wine and see SA’s best designers. This is the 8th year for the Hot 100 SA Wines awards with almost 1200 wines tasted, and the top 100 awarded for their “slurpability”. The Hot 100 is an alternative wine judging event that seeks to be a little different to the major wine shows, with categories that are not based on grape variety but rather grouped around style and intent. Purple Hands was entered in the “Fruit Forward With Finesse” class and selected as 1 of 13 wines in this category. The judges focus is on the sensory aspects of the wine, the enjoyment of drinkers and the appeal of what is in the glass. Their driving motive is to “find the most delicious, slurpable, tell-your-friends-to-buy-it wine in South Australia”.
