After Five Wine Co.

The After Five Wine Co. was created to simply showcase single vineyards that consistently produce wines of excellence and convey their Barossa sub-region’s unique quality.

Within the After Five Wine Co. range there are three wines which consist of a Shiraz, Old Vine Grenache and a blend of Shiraz/Montepulciano/Aglianico (the Serata).

The Serata blend roughly translates in Italian as ‘coming together and having a pleasant evening with friends’. This is the whole concept of this brand… getting together after five in many homes, bars and restaurants every night as the evening approaches.

With the winemaking, we focused on minimal intervention. The purpose is to let the wine communicate the site, vineyards and season.

The barrels selected represent the quality, complexity and depth of the After Five Wine Co. brand. The price purely reflects the vineyard and winery inputs.

The inspiration behind the name (After Five Wine Co.) reflects the time and place where many of our ideas begin –  after five and with a glass or two of wine.

We also wanted the packaging to convey this premium level and to be quite different to our standard Purple Hands range. The strong and striking symbol on the label reflects the strength and complexity of the wines and the link to enjoying wine with friends after 5 pm.
