When two good mates get together, one a senior wine maker with Grant Burge Wines with his own vineyard, the other with a love of great wines, the inevitable had to happen and Purple Hands Wines was created.
We are situated in the Southern Barossa just north of Williamstown, a stones throw from the Whispering Wall. Our 32 acre vineyard is planted on perfect Shiraz dirt, friable red clay over limestone. The vineyard is predominantly Shiraz, with 1 hectare each of Montepulciano and Aglianico. We are now also sourcing premium Grenache fruit from the Barossa area for our Old Vine Grenache and Mataro for our Mataro-Shiraz-Grenache, and Ancient Vine Cabernet Sauvignon for our Planta Circa.
Our aim is to produce premium wines showcasing not only the Barossa but our great patch of dirt.
Purple Hands Wines was selected as one of the ten best new 5 star wineries in the 2013 James Halliday Wine Companion.
Thanks for visiting Purple Hands Wines.
